OHSAS18001

The OHSAS18000 series of standards and the resulting occupational health and safety management system certification system are another globally popular certification system for management system standards in recent years. The OHSAS18000 series standard is an international standard jointly launched by 13 organizations such as the British Standards Institute (BSI) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in 1999. It serves as a quasi international standard in the absence of ISO development.

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS18001) is a management system standard applicable to any organization's occupational health and safety, aimed at reducing and preventing the loss of life, property, time, and environmental damage caused by accidents through management.

OHSAS18001:1999 provides organizations with a set of risk control management methods:

Through professional investigation and evaluation, as well as compliance assessment with relevant regulatory requirements, identify hazards that exist in the company's products, services, activities, and work environment.

Develop appropriate control plans for unacceptable hazards and risks.

Implement control plans, regularly inspect and evaluate occupational health and safety regulations and plans.

Establish a management system that includes organizational structure, responsibilities, training, information communication, emergency preparedness and response, and continuously improve occupational health and safety performance.

On July 2, 2007, the OHSAS 18001 standard development working group officially issued the new version of OHSAS 18001:2007 standard
